RideProfiler helps cyclists record rides, analyse aerodynamic performance, and pace
rides in real time. This policy explains what data the RideProfiler app and website
collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific.
Who we are
RideProfiler (“we”, “us”) provides the RideProfiler mobile app and the
rideprofiler.com service. For any privacy

Information we collect
Account & profile
- Your email address (to sign you in) and the name you provide.
Location only while recording / pacing
- Precise GPS location is collected only while you have started a
ride recording or a pacing session, via a foreground service you can see in your
notification shade. It is used to compute distance, speed and aerodynamic metrics, to pace
you (including with the screen off), and — if you opt in on a specific group ride — to show
your live position to other members of that ride during its scheduled window.
- We do not collect location in the background or when no session is active.
Live-location sharing on a group ride is off by default and per-ride.
Fitness & ride data
- Ride and performance data such as power, heart rate, cadence, speed, distance,
elevation and route, from your phone’s GPS and any Bluetooth sensors (power meter,
speed/cadence, heart-rate) you choose to connect.
Device & messaging
- If you enable notifications, a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud
Messaging) so we can send ride reminders and group-chat alerts. Basic technical logs needed
to run and secure the service.
How we use your data
- To provide the core features: recording rides, aerodynamic/CdA analysis, pacing, the group
ride calendar, RSVP, live map, chat and reminders.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send notifications you’ve enabled (ride reminders, chat).
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third parties
- Strava — if you connect your Strava account, we import the activities you
authorise, to analyse them. You can disconnect at any time.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications.
- Stripe — processes payments if you upgrade to Pro. You enter your card details
on Stripe’s own checkout page; they go to Stripe, never to us. We keep only the Stripe customer and
subscription references needed to know your plan and let you manage billing.
- Map tiles are served from OpenStreetMap; opening “Directions” for a ride’s meeting point
may open Google Maps in your browser.
We share personal data with these services only as needed to provide the feature, never for
their own advertising.
Storage & security
Your data is stored on the RideProfiler server and transmitted over encrypted connections
(HTTPS/TLS). We keep your ride and account data until you delete it or ask us to.
Your choices & deletion
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from your account
settings, or by emailing privacy@rideprofiler.com.
We will delete your data promptly.
- You control sensor connections, notification permissions, and per-ride live-location sharing.
Children
RideProfiler is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll change the “Last updated” date above when we do.
